Announcements for Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015

– Monday Feb. 2 is the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord in the Temple, also known as Candlemas day, or the Feast of the Purification of the Virgin. This day is celebrated in our diocese as a day for religious orders, when we pray especially for vocations to religious orders and to the priesthood. There will be Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in the church from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m.  In the mass there will be a blessing of the candles used in the church throughout the year, and also a procession of lights. After the mass there will opportunities to receive the Blessing of St. Blasius.

– There will be a course for youth and adults who would like to learn more about the Good Shepherd Catechesis for children from 3 to 6 years. This course is also a preparation for active participation in our parish. The course will be held from Friday Feb. 20 to Wednesday Feb. 25 at St. Paul School. For more information see the bulletin board and brochures in the back of the church, or on the parish website.

– Saturday Jan. 31 at 5 p.m. there will be singing rehearsal in the church for the whole perish. We will rehears together so we can sing mass nr. 7 in parts for the Sunday masses. We will also use the music from mass nr. 7 in the mass for that day at 6 p.m.  Come and sing along!
