– From 2-29 July the parish office will be closed for the summer holidays. If you need to contact a priest, phone tel. 55 21 59 50 and you call will be automatically forwarded to the priest on diuty.
– During the summer holidays in July and August, there will be a reduced mass schedule in St. Paul Church. There will be no devotions or adoration. Sunday masses in different languages at 1:00 p.m. are also cancelled for July and August. Any exceptions to this will be announced in the national groups. On weekdays the evening masses at 7.00 p.m. will be held as usual. Monday mass at 11.00 a.m. will also continue as usual. Saturday mass is as usual at 6.00 p.m., in Latin or Norwegian. The polish masses will be held as usual, including on the first Friday. At Marias Minde masses will continue as usual.
– On Saturday July 7th a Seljumannamesse will be celebrated at Selje. St. Sunniva and her companions are guardian saints for Bergen and Western Norway. Vår Frue parish in Ålesund is arranging a pilgrimage to the island of Selja, led by parish priest O.M. Stamnestrø. Faithful from other parishes are warmly invited to join them. The boat leaves for the island of Selja at 11:30 a.m. At 11:45 a.m. there is a procession from Bø to the cloister ruins. At 12:30 p.m. high mass is celebrated in the ruins of the cloister church. After mass there is a break of about 2 hours before the boat returns from the cloister ruins to the mainland at 3:30 p.m. The boat from Selje to Selja costs kr. 300. Payment can be made to Vår Frue parish bank account 0540.089.14688. Mark your payment “Selja” + your name. Please also send an email to alesund@katolsk.no to register.
– This Sunday, June 24th, is the last day there will be Church coffee after the 11 o’clock mass until after the summer holidays. Church coffee in the crypt will start up again on Sunday August 24th.
