Father Wilhelm Hertman OFM, who would have been 100 years old on 10th October, died peacefully on Friday 5th October 2018 in his monastery in Nijmegen. He will be buried on 10th October at Alverna monastery in the Netherlands. Father Hertman was parish priest in St. Paul parish between 1979 and 1986 and for many years was also chaplain for Franciskus Xaverius sisters in Marias Minde. We encourage the faithful to pray for him. Bishop Bernt Eidsvig will come to Bergen to celebrate a requiem mass for Father Hertman on October 10 at 6 pm, at Marias Minde.
The relics of St. Thérèse of Lisieux & her parents will be arriving on 9th October. There will be a welcome ceremony at 5 pm & celebratory prayers before high mass at 7 pm. There are some changes to the original program so check the notice board & the parish website for the final program. You are welcome to take a rose with you for the rose devotions after Tuesday’s mass. Those who take part in the mass can obtain a plenary indulgence with the usual conditions which are; confession, communion during the mass & saying the indulgence prayers.

This autumn’s marriage preparation course begins on Monday 29th October at 6.30 pm in the school staff room. Anyone wanting to be married in the Catholic Church must complete one of these courses. Enrolment at the parish office, tel: 55 21 59 50.
