Activities during the parish party made a total of kr. 23019 & the collection kr. 22008,50. Thank you to all those who helped to arrange the party, those who baked cakes & made food & those who sold them. Also to those whose who arranged the chairs & stage & those who cleared away afterwards. Those who sang, danced & played music. Thank you also to those who took part in the party & helped to create a friendly atmosphere.
It will soon be Ash Wednesday. Last year’s palm branches can be handed in to the parish office up to 9th February. They will be burnt & the ashes used in the ash crosses.
Ash Wednesday, 10th February, there will be Polish high mass in St. Paul’s church at 5.30 pm & Norwegian high mass at 7 pm. Ash crosses will also be available during the school mass in St. Paul’s church at 8.30 am, in the church from 9.30 am until 12 noon, & at mass in Marias Minde at 9 am.
Thursday 25th February – Saturday 27th February there will be a parish Lenten retreat led by Father Arne Kirsebom SSCC. By taking part in the 3 day retreat & otherwise fulfilling the ordinary conditions can one gain a plenary indulgence.
Caritas’ Norwegian course for new beginners started last week but it is still possible to enroll until 15th February. Registration is via the link on the website caritasbergen.no. The website is in Polish, Spanish, German & English.
The student group Fides welcomes all students & young people from 18 to 35 years of age. It is an International group which meets every Sunday after the English mass & offers different topics & activities. At the meeting on 14th February Eril Andvik will talk about God’s will & finding ones call in life. All are welcome.
The marriage preparation course begins this Thursday,11th February, in the school’s staff room.
