This autumn St. Johannes Catholic Bible school opens at Marias Minne in Sandviken. The school offers basic training in children & youth catechesis or in parish administration and finance. For more information contact project leader Peder Solberg.

In connection with ecumenical prayer week there will be an ecumenical service in Biskopshavn church on 26th January at 7.30 pm.  Everyone is welcome.

Bergen Young Catholic’s first meeting will be at 7.30 pm on Thursday 25th January in Birgittakjellenen.

Friday 26th January is the feast of St Eystein. During evening mass there will be prayers for vocations to the priesthood & especially for students of St Eystein seminar in Oslo, among them Trym André Hellevig from our parish.

After evening mass on Saturday 27th January there will be Eucharistic adoration. The Mother Theresa sisters & Fides student group will be leading us in worship.

Friday 2nd February we will be celebrating Candlemas day, the feast of Christ’s presentation in the Temple, at the 7 pm. mass. It is also ordination day in our diocese when we pray especially for vocations. Mass starts with blessing of the candles to be used during the year followed by a procession of light. After mass there  will be Balsius blessing of throats.

A new marriage course will begin on 12th February in the staff room at St. Paul school & will go over the next 5 Mondays. Anyone wanting to marry in the Catholic Church must complete one of these courses. Enrollment at the parish office.
