It was erroneously announced that our parish would be responsible for prayers & lighting of the candle at Fløien this Sunday but it will be next Sunday, 3rd Sunday in Advent, at 1.15 pm. Father Erik has 20 tickets for those who meet up at the bottom station no later than 12.40 pm.
Caritas Bergen has a new director, Marita Moe Sandven. Marita is a member of St. Paul parish & takes over from Hroar Espeland who is retiring. She will be presented to the parish with a short interview during church coffee at a later time.
The bishop & our parish priest have decided to hold a broad discussion about companionship in the parish. This is part of the papal synod process, National & other groups will hold discussions in the near future. There will also be open evenings in the crypt where members of the parish can meet in small groups for informal & open discussions. These will be at 6 pm on all Thursdays up to Christmas.
St. Pauls is a colourful & multinational parish but how well do we know each other ? Katolsk forum invites everyone to a different type of meeting on Thursday 8th December. The subject will be:”Christmas traditions in our own & other national groups”. Representatives from 3 different national groups will talk about how they celebrate Christmas. The meeting will be in the school staff room at 7.45 pm, after evening mass.
There won’t be a parish Christmas market this year but articles made by Caritas knitting group & books etc. will be on sale in the parish office until Christmas.
After high mass next Sunday, 11th December, young people aged 15 to 19 from all national groups are invited to a catechism meeting in the parish office. Father Gregor is responsible for the theme: “Jesus comes at Christmas & on the last day”. It will be possible to go to confession afterwards.
