Father Michel Beckers, who was parish priest in St. Paul parish from 1976 to 1982 & from 1994 to 2003, died on 16th November in Gemert in the Netherlands, where he has lived the last years during his illness. He slipped quietly away surrounded by his closest family. He was loved as a priest & as a fellow human being & many in our parish have fond memories of him. There won’t be a funeral but a Requiem mass will be celebrated for him at 7 pm on Tuesday 29th November. Rest in peace.

Bergen Catholic Youth are having a gathering for pupils in ungdomskole & videregåendeskole in the crypt from 5-7 pm on Thursday 1st December to start their Advents action.

St. Paul parish is arranging Eucharistic Adoration of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on the night between Thursday 1st & Friday 2nd December, starting after evening mass. For more information & enrolment contact the Mother Teresa sisters on tel: 55215970. Everyone is welcome.

Next Sunday, 2nd Sunday of Advent, St. Paul parish will be responsible for the prayers & lighting of the candle at Fløien at 1.15 pm.

Caritas Bergen has a new director,Marita Moe Sandven. Marita is a member of St. Paul parish & is taking over from Hroar Espeland who is retiring. She will be introduced to the parish with a short interview during church coffee after high mass next Sunday December 4th .

St. Pauls is a colourful & multinational parish, but how well do we know each other ? Katolsk forum invites everyone to a different type of meeting on Thursday 8th December. The subject will be: “Christmas traditions in our own & other national groups”. Representatives from 3 different national groups will talk about how they celebrate Christmas. The meeting will be in the school staff room at 7.45 pm, after evening mass.
